I went home for the Christmas holidays feeling like a carcass.  My soul, as far as I was concerned had been digested by fate and spewed back into my body, where it resided with no will or purpose left to itself.   Not unlike a blind truck driver.  I had written all that into my journal as well.   I was particularly fond of writing “not unlike”  instead of “like” at the time.
